How to See Modernism Week’s Social House

A Desert Eichler is transformed into an idea space at the intersection of midcentury and new century.

Design Milk and designer Bobby Berk are partnering with heritage Danish midcentury furniture company Carl Hansen & Son to curate the interiors of the second annual Modernism Week Social House.

Just the fifth Desert Eichler to be completed in Palm Springs, this newly built house is a modernized version of an original Eichler house designed by Claude Oakland and the first of its kind developed by KUD Properties. Previous iterations of the Desert Eichlers were based on designs by Claude Oakland and Anshen & Allen.  KUD Properties is the exclusive builder of Desert Eichlers in the Palm Springs area.

Design Milk and Bobby Berk are collaborating to outfit the home with contemporary art, accessories, and design objects that complement the heritage midcentury furnishings provided by Carl Hansen & Son.  Sonos completes this perfect home of the future with its sound system, demonstrating how state of the art technology can marry seamlessly with midcentury modern design.

Modernism Week’s Social House is only open by appointment and invitation from February 17 to February 19, but you can get a peek if you can snag a ticket to the following events.
