Five local students were awarded scholarships from Modernism Week and OneFuture Coachella Valley.
Each year, we are proud to join OneFuture Coachella Valley and our regional partners to support and honor the achievements of our annual scholarship recipients.
Despite an unprecedented year with challenges that extended beyond the classroom, we were deeply inspired by the resilience and optimism of the 2021 honorees. This year, more than $300,000 was awarded to students from the Coachella Valley pursuing a college education.
“I could not be prouder of these students and how they navigated this past year,” said Modernism Week Board Member Regina Basterrechea in this year’s scholarship awards ceremony. “2021 will be our 6th year of partnering with OneFuture. We couldn’t be more grateful to Ernie and his team for all they do to guide and support our local students.”
Congratulations to each of the 2021 Modernism Week Scholarship Recipients:
- Amparo Medina – Civil & Environmental Engineering major at Cal Poly Pomona
- Karen Meza-Morales – Architecture major at Cal Poly Pomona
- Ignacio Moreno – Landscape Architecture and Plant Science major at Cal Poly Pomona
- Jorjele Quintero-Meraz – Environmental Science major at California Baptist University

Special thanks to OneFuture Coachella Valley, who works to help all students graduate prepared for college, career, and life — expanding and enhancing the local workforce so that our youth and economy thrive.
