The Saguaro is one of our favorite spots in Palm Springs and here are a few reasons why.
This nondescript 1970s structure was reinvented in 2012 by Stamberg Aferiat Architecture as one of Palm Springs’ most popular (and most instagrammable) boutique hotels. The unmistakable color palette, comprised of 14 lively hues, was inspired by indigenous desert flowers and infuses the property with the vibrant spirit of the Southwest. With accessible rates, fantastic food, and a gorgeous pool situated in lush gardens, The Saguaro is the perfect desert getaway.
Sometimes less is more. The rooms are not super fancy, but they’re perfect in their simplicity, each one featuring black and white vintage photography courtesy of the Palm Springs Historical Society and traditional Mexican furniture indigenous to the desert regions of what is now the American West and Southwest. On-site retail therapy. Indulge in a bit of weekend shopping without even leaving the hotel. Stop by the lobby gift shop to pick up your own custom striped blanket (like the ones adorning each of the beds at The Saguaro, designed by Stamberg Aferiat) or a Harvey bag made from colorful seat belts, among the other great design goodies for the stylish traveler.
Delicious sips and bites. Iron Chef Jose Garces has created signature Latin-inspired menus for both restaurants at The Saguaro. Whether you’re noshing poolside and grabbing a quick Mexican street food-inspired bite from El Jefe or enjoying Basque-inspired tapas by the fire on the patio at Tino, The Saguaro’s on-site dining leaves nothing to be desired. Our absolute favorite: the pescado taco paired with a good tequila.
