CAMP

Giveaway alert!  Visit Baldwin Hardware’s booth at CAMP today from 10am to 6pm for a chance to win a sexy set of Palms Springs-inspired handle sets.  White on Rice Couple host a demonstration at 1:15pm with Thermidor in the Ferguson Kitchen.

Parties

Don’t fret!  There are still some fabulous fêtes with available tickets so get ready, get dressed, GO!  If you love midcentury tiki culture, don’t miss the Tiki-a-Go-Go with the Hula Girls party at the Royal Hawaiian Estates from 6pm to 9pm ($125).   Also, the Christopher Kennedy Compound, aka Modernism Week Show House, aka Villa Golightly is the place to be tonight.  Snag a spot at the Red Carpet Gala ($275 – $375) or pop by later for the Starlight After Party which runs from 10:30pm onward ($150).

Tours

The Christopher Kennedy Compound: Modernism Week Show House 2017 ($40) is open for tours daily between 9am and 4pm. Get your tickets at the door. Chino Canyon Project is open for tours daily, reserved tickets guarantee timed entry but tickets are also available at the door ($50).

Talks

There are still a number of fantastic lectures and talks with available tickets. Catch “The Desert as a Mirror: Reflections on the Void” with artist Lita Albuquerque at the Palm Springs Museum ($20) or Screenstyle: Creating Narrative Spaces on Film and Television, a conversation with set decorators from the smash hits “Masters of Sex” and the big screen film “Passengers” hosted in the gorgeous HK3 Design showroom ($35).

Exhibitions

Stop by the Palm Springs Library to catch the FAST FORWARD Architecture by William F. Cody exhibition, open daily from 10am to 4pm ($10).  Also today is the first day of the Modernism Show and Sale open from 10am to 6pm at the Palm Springs Convention Center ($20).

Free Events

You can also check out some of Modernism Week’s free events.  Start at the  ARRIVE for their 1 Year Anniversary daytime party which is happening rain or shine.  Stay in the Uptown Design District for a bit of midcentury meets new century flair at New Century Modern or check out SHAG’s Print Release Party.
