Christopher Kennedy’s Reveal

The team behind the Christopher Kennedy Compound 2015 reveals the star-studded showcase to Modernism Weekly.

Though Vanessa Kogevinas, the producer of this year’s Modernism Week Showhouse at the Christopher Kennedy Compound, was the picture of calm when she greeted us outside the gates for the unveiling of the property on Friday night, she assured us that the week had been a whirlwind. “The guys were still here at 5:30 putting in trees!,” she exclaimed.

No matter. By the time we arrived, order had prevailed. Every piece of carefully chosen furniture and artfully curated accessory in the 2500 square foot house, with spaces designed by Linda Allen, Bobby Berk, Michael Berman, Mark Cutler, Vanessa de Vargas, Tabitha Evans, Trip Haenisch, Grace Home, Parker Kennedy, Paletteur, Nancy Price, Marlaina Teich and, of course, Kennedy himself, was in place, and the party was in full swing. Waiters, bearing trays of lemon squares and French fries, circled among the guests, including Joe Lucas of LA’s Harbinger, who, among other things, jostled for space on the three Galanter and Jones heated benches on the Michel Berman-designed side patio, made themselves comfortable in the Trip Hanisch-designed living room, and envied the outdoor shower and the walk-in closet in the master suite designed byChristopher Kennedy, who looked particularly dapper, dressed in a turquoise shirt and a black and white patterned jacket. As one guest noted, the house, bordering the Indian Canyon Golf Course, the house, with its two kitchens, designed by Kennedy, and plethora of comfortable outdoor spaces — the softly glowing pool and front patio, designed by Michael Berman; the living and dining room terrace, designed by Paletteur/Gino Castano and David Lasker; and, master bedroom terrace, designed by Linda Allen, was the perfect setting for the Traditional Home and California Homes presented event. Open to the public from 12-4, the house is one of the highlights of Modernism Week.

Here, a quick glimpse into some of the spaces.
