We took a trip back in time during this year’s most popular events for car and travel aficionados.
The cars, the clothes, the culture – we can’t help but feel nostalgic for the heyday of the midcentury! During this year’s Vintage Car Show and Vintage Trailer Show, the spirit of adventure and travel were celebrated with a stunning display of historic vehicles, from the sleek curves of an Alfa Romeo Duetto Spyder to the iconic aluminum body of an Airstream trailer and more.
The Vintage Car Show featured over 50 vintage automobiles on display at the front entrance of the Palm Springs Convention Center. Car owners showcased their collection of classic cars from the 1930s through 1980s, sharing their passion for vintage automobiles with fellow enthusiasts. Acclaimed car expert Donald Osborne also gave a presentation on midcentury Italian auto design, and signed copies of his new book Stile Transatlantico | Transatlantic Style: A Romance of Fins and Chrome.
We closed out the final weekend of Modernism Week with a diverse collection of trailers, buses, motorhomes and vintage tow vehicles at the Vintage Trailer Show. We learned about the history, restoration and travels of various trailers, shopped vintage goods from from local vendors, and gleaned plenty of inspiration for our next road trip.
